Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in der Villa. Carlos hat uns ganz lieb empfangen, es stand ein großerer leckerer Obstkorb in der Küche. Die Ausstattung war sehr gut, es gab Spültabs für die Spülmaschine, Kaffeetabs für einen ersten Kaffee und auch Waschmittel für die Waschmaschine :-) Die Lage und der Ausblick ist superschön, hier fühlt man sich wohl. Man muss allerdings gut zu Fuß sein, wenn man in den Ort laufen will um essen zu gehen oder um einzukaufen, die Wege sind sehr steil. Ein Auto sollte man auf der Insel haben, das ist von Vorteil, die Insel sollte man gesehen haben. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit

We were a group of 5 persons and had a real great week. Everything was exactly as described in the description. 

Petit village pittoresque. Le son des cloches de l'église enchante. Steak and Sun & The Old Pharmacy sont excellents. Superbe plage et attractions tout autour. Le voisinage est très paisible. La propriété est accueillante et offre une vue imprenable sur Ponta do Sol et l'océan. La maison est grande (les dimensions des diverses pièces sont excellentes) et fonctionnelle. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine et la salle de bain attenante à la chambre des maîtres. Matelas très confortables. Professional check in and check out.

Cette Villa était magnifique. Idéalement placé. Tout était parfait, et surtout une vue incroyable sur le village en contre bas. Idéal pour une famille.

This is by far the nicest Airbnb location we ever stayed at, it's even better than in the pictures. The house is not only beautiful but also very well equipped für up to 7 people. Carlos had left a bif bowl of fresh food as a welcome and was a very considerate host. But the best thing about the house it is the fantastic view, you see the little village below and the sea to your right... we spent a lot of time on the patio in the sunshine, just enjoying everything there was to see. Highly recommended!

 

Fantastic location overlooking the whole town. Best of both worlds. Secluded and quiet but still a great spot for people watching without the need to move from your own poolside.

One word: Amazing! The house has incredible views in a lovely quiet setting. Make sure to take your breakfast on the terrace overlooking that amazing valley. That view rates top 5 of all airbnbs I've stayed at. We spent two days of our stay just sunbathing and dipping in the little pool, it was so relaxing. The pool is private and no neighbours to watch you which is great. Except cute Ronaldo the black cat who gallops past the terrace everyday at 8:30am sharp. The house is pleasant, very clean, all working, and all your essentials are provided: from shampoo, to salt and pepper, pool towel, loo roll and even washing up powder (very important to know!). Your host Carlos, what a delight. Chatty, can give you all the essential info about the local area. I would recommend having a car on the island as there are a lot of hills everywhere - naturally - so you will have sore legs walking up and down them all day long (this is coming from someone who runs 3 times a week!). There is a supermarket at the petrol station with all your essentials at the bottom of the hill, we did our shopping there. The little beach at the bottom of the hill is actually a really nice swim and good temperature, and there is a cute path from the house to the beach. You will deserve a glass of wine after walking back up the hill. You will have a magical time, I can't fault the place and will come back one day! Thanks Carlos!

Perfect location in the hill with a stunning view! The house was very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed every day the heated (26C) pool. Car parking was little tricky, but there was always free space on the street. Overall a splendid place, we will visit again for sure. Many thanks to Carlos.

Ein tolles Haus mit einzigartiger Aussicht. Wir haben zwei wunderschöne Wochen in diesem sauberen und gepflegten Haus verbracht. Pool und Aussicht sind einfach nur herrlich, richtig zum geniessen. Es ist alles wie auf den Bildern beschrieben. Wir können dieses Haus sehr empfehlen.

This was our fourth holiday in Ponta do Sol and our second and not last stay in this wonderful house. The house is very clean, the view is amazing and Carlos, the owner, is very helpful. Besides, we highly recommend "Our Madeira". This agency is very organized and very helpful. We can also highly recommend a car rental through Our Madeira - no queuing and no extra costs for insurance.

Great house, awsome view. I will be back. I often go to places, love them, but feel I would like too see as much of the world as I can in my lifetime so never go back. However I think I will visit again and again and I will stay in this house again. Honestly I am already thinking that when it's safe to do so I am going to book this house again.

Alles wie beschrieben, dazu noch das Meeresrauschen jeden Tag, einfach herrlich. Der Pool ist klein aber genau richtig für en kleines Bad nach den Wanderungen. Eigentlich noch nie eine so komplette Küchenausstattung gesehen, es gibt einfach nix zu meckern. Ja, durch die Hanglage steiler Aufstieg, aber das Auto kann abends einfach stehen bleiben.

we stayed two weeks and enjoyed every monent. The veiw was breathtaking overlooking the ocean and Ponta do Sol. Everything in the house worked very well. We also enjoyed the heated pool very much.

The house has a exclusive location. You have a view on the village, the beach and other houses on the flanks of the narrow valley. The house is very spacious and very clean! Because there is no parkingspace you have to leave your car on the road. Then you have to do some stairs and a short walk along the bananatrees to the house, for us no problem at all. If you like music, this is the perfect place to stay. Sometimes there is music in the evening from the hotel on the other side of the hill or from the village. We liked it! That also means that during the day you hear the noise from the traffic in the village that is driving to the nearby VE3. The communication with Carlos was perfect!

Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Bilder geben genau die Realität wieder - das haben wir leider schon anders erlebt. Es ist sehr sauber, gemütlich und perfekt ausgestattet. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Während unseres zweiwöchigen Aufenthaltes gab es abends insgesamt vier Mal laute Musik (dreimal aus dem Ort, einmal aus dem gegenüberliegenden Hotel). Uns hat es nicht gestört. Ponta do Sol ist ein kleiner, ruhiger Ort mit einigen schönen Bars und Restaurants. Der Strand ist sauber und nicht überlaufen. Zu Fuß ist man in zehn Minuten im Ort, zurück benötigt man aufgrund der Steigung etwas länger. Der nächste (sehr gut ausgestattete) Supermarkt ist mit dem Auto in ein paar Minuten erreicht. Die Kommunikation mit Carlos war sehr nett und angenehm. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

The apartment/house/location is very beautiful, everything was fine.

Booked a stay at this villa through Our Madeira on a last minute whim and could not have been happier. The villa itself is fantastic and the views are even better than the photos. What really stood out for us was that we arrived and the fridge was already full of a few bits that might be needed and the villa had a lot of equipment/ kitchen bits that you might need if cooking/bbqing for yourself - sometimes you stay at villas and they really only have the bare bones in terms of equipment etc but this villa was stocked like a home from home which made the stay even more relaxing. Location was perfect for us as a couple - a short (steep!) walk in to town with a couple of restaurants and an easy drive from the airport. The supermarket nearby has just about everything you would need for a short stay, but if you want something more then there are a couple of bigger supermarkets in Ribiera Brava which is only 12 minutes away. Plenty of nice walks as well although to be honest it was quite difficult to tear ourselves away from just sitting and looking at the fantastic view from the villa! A tip if you visit - we rented a basic economy car through europecar. Absolutely no issues with the hire itself (other than the usual upsell) or access to the villa (which is easy) but our 1.2 engine struggled at times up the steep hills around the island - for more than two people, make sure to hire the next class up. Thanks again to Carlos and team for a wonderful stay.

Very clean house with a beautiful view! The house is well suited for a relaxing holiday. A steep footpath leads into the village to the supermarket and restaurants. Carlos, the owner, was very helpful. We booked the house and a rental car via Our Madeira. The agency organized everything perfectly and even our significant flight delay was no problem. Wir waren 11 Tage in diesem Ferienhaus (Eltern mit zwei Töchtern 16 J und 26 J) Der Ausblick auf das Meer ist ein Traum! Es ist alles genauso wie beschrieben. In nicht mal 10 Minuten ist man an der schönen Bucht, wo sich unserer Meinung nach das beste Restaurant der Insel befindet. Wir kochen viel und gerne, aber wir waren tatsächlich oft in dem kleinen Lokal essen. Das Haus war ausgesprochen sauber, der Pool (beheizt 24°) herrlich. Die Küche war komplett ausgestattet, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Frische Brötchen/Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit breit gefächertem Sortiment, 10 Min. entfernt (ein kurzer Morgenspaziergang) Als Empfang hatten wir eine riesige Schale mit Obst von Madeira, z. B. Pinapplebananas sehr lecker. Die Schlüsselübergabe hat super geklappt.

We had a great time! Everything was very fine! The house ist is very, very, very beautiful, very good bed, perfect kitchen, plenty of space, the unbelievable looks down to the village an the sea, the narrow (and coming from the village quite steepy) walks to the house! We want to come back as we are allowed and find the right time to! ;-)

We had a very pleasant stay, enjoying walks at levadas, klimbing hills with spectacular views. With a rented car it was easy to get around the island. We give our best recomandations for both the villa in Ponta do Sol, as for Madeira as a place to stay at holiday.

Wow what a location. Perched above the town, far enough away for peace and quiet but close enough for a 10 minute walk to the centre. The villa is stunning, so well designed and comfortable, it feels spacious and everything you possible need is in the villa. The pool, views across the ocean and facilities make it a must to stay. We were met by Carlos who was great and really helpful. If you are coming to Maderia and want a perfect location then this is a must.

Großartiges Haus, alles wie im Angebot dargestellt, alles vorhanden, alles sauber. Sehr nette Betreuung durch Carlos. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub. Ponta do Sol ist ein netter Ort mit ein paar kleinen Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Der Ort ist ein super Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Mit dem Auto ist man in wenigen Minuten an den ersten Levada Wegen. Einziges kleines Manko: Der Fußweg vom Haus runter in den Ort ist aktuell wegen Erdrutsch gesperrt. Man muss die Straße nehmen. Nachts durch die schmalen Serpentinen etwas abenteuerlich, aber gut machbar. Once again, many thanks to Carlos. It has been a pleasure! Obrigado!

Superbe maison avec une vue incroyable. Nous avons passé à 6 une très belle semaine. La piscine est petite mais parfaite pour se rafraîchir et bénéficie d'une vue incroyable sur la mer. Carlos est très accueillant et se débrouille très bien en français ce qui est très appréciable.

Wunderschönes Haus. Toller Blick über das kleine Zentrum von Porto dal Sol. Das Haus ist genauso wie im Internet beschrieben. Es lässt sich um das Haus wunderbar faulenzen. Ins Dorf braucht man zu Fuss ca. 10 Minten nach untern und 20 Minuten nach oben und eine gute Kondition. Am kleinen Strand lässt sich gut baden, das Wasser ist sauber und klar. Es gibt nicht allzuviele gute Restaurants und ein Auto ist auf jeden Fall erforderlich. Wir können das Haus auf jeden Fall zu 100% weiter empfehlen.

We did not rent a car, but walked down to the supermarket, cafés, restaurants, bars and to the beach. Het huis ligt hoog verheven boven het dorpje Ponta do Sol, een half uurtje klimmen vanuit het dorp na de maaltijd als je besloten had te voet te gaan. Maar dan is het uitzicht zeer de moeite waard, zowel op het dorp als naar de eindeloze oceaan. Het huis is groot en comfortabel. Mooi terras met zon en schaduwplekjes

Excellent property well located on the cliffs overlooking the beach. The house has a nice homely feel and a well equipped kitchen. The views are amazing and the location is nice, as it's not far from Funchal but far enough away to feel more relaxing and slower paced

This "casa" is almost a little villa. Situated directly above the beach and center of Ponta do Sol, it's really a "bird's nest". Well equipped with everything you need. A (small) swimming pool was under construction and will make it perfect. Due to the position of the house, you have to walk a bit, to reach it. The car must be parked on the street (like all the neighbors do). The beach of Ponta do Sol is really nice, clear water, many fishes -you can swim, snorkel and dive.You may park your car in the no longer used tunnel (on the left side). Some evenings, we had live music from the town or from the hotel on the cliff on the other side of the bay - very nice, sitting on the terrace, drinking a glas of wine and listening to the music. We had been in Sao Vicente at the north coast for one week before we came here, so we had already vistied all the northern destinations from there (see other review). Here's what we did from Ponta do Sol (besides swiming at the local beach): Nice round tour levada walk directly near Ponta do Sol (Levada Nova – Levada do Moinho = 2 Levadas on different levels, waterfall, tunnel). We also went to Funchal 3 times from here (city, Botanical Garden and Monte Palace Tropical Garden), hiked on the stunning eastern cape (Sao Lourenco bay) and walked the straining, but gorgeous alpine Tour from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo and back. We also visited Capo Girao and the Cristo Rei statue (the little brother of the one in Rio de Janeiro). Don't forget to drive through the old coast road tunnel (right side at the beach) in Ponta do Sol - if you follow the road for some hunderd meters, there's a waterfall falling directly onto the street! Madeirian car wash ;-)

Wir haben eine sehr schöne Woche im Casa Jardim Mar verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel, sehr sauber und wunderschön eingerichtet. Das Besondere jedoch ist eindeutig die Lage des Hauses. Direkt vorn an der Steilklippe mit einem fantastischem Blick auf Ponta do Sol und den Atlantik. Wir haben uns vom ersten Augenblick wohl gefühlt und jeden Tag genossen. Der Strand ist fußläufig erreichbar, so dass wir jeden Morgen zum Baden laufen und danach ein Frühstück auf der ganz wunderbaren Terrasse genießen konnten.Was will man mehr. We spent a very nice week at the Casa Jardim Mar. The house is very comfortable, very clean and beautifully furnished. The special thing is the location of the house. Right in front on the steep coast with a fantastic view of Ponta do Sol and the Atlantic. We felt comfortable from the first moment and enjoyed every day. The beach is within walking distance, so we run every morning for bathing and afterwards a breakfast on the wonderful terrace could enjoy. What more could you want.

Amazing views, situated in a lovely quiet town in a lovely part of Madeira. we are more than happy to recommend Carlos to anyone else. He is a lovely host and went out of his way to make sure we were happy and settled. We would like to go back if at all possible.

Ponta do Sol ist ein gemütlicher Ort mit viel Sonne und einer sehr schönen Bucht. Carlos hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen, und das Haus ist sehr geräumig und sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und hat alles, was man braucht. Der Ausblick ist ein Traum, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder !

Wir haben zu zweit zwei Wochen in dem sehr schönen Ferienhaus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gepflegt und vollständig ausgestattet. Die Fotos geben exakt wieder, was wir vorgefunden haben. Besonders genossen haben wir das morgendliche Frühstück auf der sonnigen Terrasse mit dem wundervollen Blick auf den hübschen Ort Ponta do Sol und den weiten Atlantik. Durch die schöne Hanglage bedingt ist das Haus über einen schmalen Fussweg zu erreichen und man kann nicht direkt vorm Haus parken, was wir aber nicht als Problem empfunden haben. Eher im Gegenteil: so war man etwas ferner der Straße und es war schön ruhig. Wir haben auf Madeira Wanderurlaub gemacht und aufgrund der zentralen Lage von Ponta do Sol konnten wir alle Ausgangspunkte gut erreichen. Wir haben sowohl im Ferienhaus gekocht, aber auch die guten Restaurants in Ponta do Sol besucht und dies immer mit einem Spaziergang in den Ort verbunden. Im Ort gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt, in dem man alles bekommt was benötigt, zwei größere Märkte gibt es in Ribeira Brava. Fazit: Tolles Ferienhaus mit gutem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und traumhaften Ausblick auf den Ort und das Meer! We spent two weeks in this phantastic villa. The villa is very clean, in very good condition and well equipped. The photos do not lie. We particularly loved the breakfast on the sunny terrasse with the beautiful view at Ponta do Sol and the wide atlantic sea. The house is a bit back from the street, you need to walk few meters from the street where you park the car. This has the advantage that it is very quiet (no noise from cars). We have been hiking on Madeira and felt Ponta do Sol was a great place to be with short distances to everywhere. We have used the kitchen in the villa and we have been out in several restaurants in Ponta do Sol as well. There are some good options to eat close to the sea and you either go down by car (easy to find a parking space) or walk. We mainly walked and we always enjoyed to do. There is a small supermarket at the roundabout where you can get everything you need and there are two bigger stores Ribeira Brava. In a nutshell : a great villa with good price/value and a really phantastic view on Ponta do Sol and the the sea.

Very nice villa, well equipped and maintained. Very nice garden and beautiful views over the village and the ocean. One thing that would make the stay even better would be a dishwasher, but that is a minor detail. Had a lovely stay, would certainly consider to book again if we go to Madeira

Unsere Familie ( 6 Pers.) war 3 Wochen in den Sommerferien in diesem tollen Haus. Wir haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die idyllische Lage mit dem traumhaften Blick versetzte uns sofort in den Urlaub - Modus. Die Ankunft / Übergabe verlief problemlos, der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und war jederzeit über Handy kontaktierbar, reagierte sehr schnell, und war sehr hilfsbereit und unkompliziert. Die Angaben im Internet beschreiben das Haus sehr exakt, aber in echt ist es noch viel schöner! Haus und Garten waren sehr sauber und gepflegt. Super - nach einem mehrtägigem Waldbrand in den Bergen von Calheta (und Monte) mit anschließendem Asche-"Regen" wurde der Außenbereich nochmal extra geputzt! Die Lage ist super, man kann gut zu Fuß ins Dorf und zu den Restaurants gehen und kann mit Mietauto alle Orte der Insel gut erreichen. Es gibt einen etwas längeren Treppen-Zugangsweg von der Straße zum Haus, was wir sehr idyllisch fanden, aber natürlich nichts für gehbehinderte Menschen ist. Tatsächlich hört man im August abends desöfteren die Musikbands aus dem Ort hochschallen, was uns aber nicht so störte. Dafür liebten wir es, abends auf der Terasse oder in der Hollywoodschaukel unter dem Mangobaum zu sitzen und ins Dorf und aufs Meer zu schauen. Ein tolles Feriendomizil, was wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen Können

Die Bilder im Netz zur Unterkunft stimmen mit der Realität voll überein. Die Wohnung ist großzügig, sauber und es ist alles vorhanden, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt. Das Internet funktioniert sehr gut. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist magisch. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben. In den 14 Tagen (Sommerferien) gab es dreimal Lärm durch die Musik eines Hotels, was aber aufgrund der tollen Unterkunft annehmbar ist. Wir empfehlen dieses Haus uneingeschränkt weiter.

No problems at all. The house is very pleasant and the location is first-class with spectacular views across the bay. Only a short drive up to Funchal and an ideal base if, like me, you are visiting Madeira to take full advantage of the amazing walks both coastal and in the mountains. I certainly would have no hesitation in recommending this property or the Managing Company who were very courteous and helpful.

Au bout d'une petite ruelle quand on arrive dans le jardin, que l'on découvre la maison puis la vue sur Ponta Do Sol et l'océan : waouh En fait c'est comme sur les photos mais en mieux La propreté que ce soit dans le Jardin ou la maison, est irréprochable avec des superbes vues. En plus c'est calme. Manque peut être un peu de documents avec des renseignements sur Madère .... ça serait encore un Plus. Le propriétaire (Carlos) est très gentil et très accueillant et avec lui pas de PB ( Monsieur No Problème ) , et je pense que ces qualités se retrouvent chez la plupart des Madériens . Nous pouvons que recommander cette maison qui en plus de son super emplacement à Ponta Do Sol est aussi très bien située pour visiter Madère. Plus personnellement, c'était de très bonne vacances et la cerise sur le gâteau a été la fête des fleurs à Funchal ... et la parade inoubliable

wir hatten eine wunderbare woche in der casa jardim mar und konnten sowohl das schöne haus als auch den gepflegten garten genießen. die aussicht beim frühstück und beim abendessen auf einem der zwei balkone ist phänomenal! und wenn man in der bar am strand sitzt, sieht man das haus, das über er bucht thront. alles ist sehr neu und sauber und carlos, der besitzer, ist sehr hilfreich und stets da, wenn man ihn braucht. der ort selbst ist für uns einer der schönsten, er liegt gut und ist wettermäßig sicher bevorzugt. alles in allem: sechs von fünf sternen!

The house was even more as we already expected from the description and the pictures: very clean, very spacious, everything we needed was there and above all the view was fantastic. The owner, Carlos, is a friendly host and surprised us with delicious bananas and fresh eggs. We enjoyed our stay very much and would like to come back some day to Madeira. And than it will be for certain in Casa Jardim Mar!

Ein sehr schön, direkt oberhalb und mit Blick auf Ponta do Sol gelegenes Haus. Die gezeigten Bilder geben die Lage und Ausstattung des Hauses sehr gut wieder. Die Sauberkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des "Hausherren" war hervorragend. Eventuell kommt es bei Disco-Betrieb im Hotel gegenüber zu einer Lärmbelästigung. Ein Mietwagen ist notwendig. Für Menschen mit Gehbehinderung nur bedingt geeignet, da Weg zum Haus doch ein Stück mit Treppen bergab bzw. danach wieder bergauf führt. Wir fanden es toll.

Wir waren zu dritt (drei Frauen) in der Unterkunft und haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Das Haus liegt am Hang mit Blick auf Ponta do Sol. Es ist sehr sauber, geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und hat alles, was man benötigt. Es gibt sogar einen Sandwichmaker in der Küche. Ein Schlafzimmer mit Ausgang zur Terasse hat ein eigenes, neu renoviertes Bad mit Regendusche. Die anderen zwei, etwas kleineren Schlafzimmer teilen sich ein Bad. Dort befindet sich auch eine Waschmaschine. In beiden Bädern sind Duschgel und Shampoo sowie Handtücher vorhanden. Es gibt ausreichend Schränke, sodass sich die Unterkunft auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt eignet. Es gibt genügend Raum und Schlafplätze für 7 Personen, für uns zu dritt war die Größe von 150qm Luxus pur. Im Obergeschoss gibt es einen großen Raum mit einem weiteren Bett. Dort ist zudem ein Spieltisch sowie eine Playstation mit Spielen, die wir allerdings nicht genutzt haben. Angrenzend an das Zimmer ist noch ein weiterer Balkon. Im riesigen Wohn- Essraum im Erdgeschoss ist ein Fernsehgerät für Regentage vorhanden. Am meisten haben wir uns auf der großen Terasse aufgehalten und den Blick auf die Berge und das Meer genossen. Aber auch an den Regentagen war es im Wohnzimmer sehr gemütlich. Es gibt freies W-Lan, das kostenfrei genutzt werden kann. Um das Haus ist noch ein kleiner Garten mit Feuerstelle, Hollywoodschaukel und einer Außendusche. Zudem sind zwei bequeme Liegestühle vorhanden. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist extrem gut. Man erhält viel mehr, als man erwartet. Einziges Manko ist der Zugang zum Haus, der nicht für gehbehinderte geeignet ist, da man einige Stufen und einen schmalen Weg überwinden muss. Dies war für uns kein Hindernis und der Besitzer war auch sehr hilfsbereit beim Tragen der Koffer. Als Willkommenspaket waren in der Küche Kaffee, Tee, Zucker, Gewürze, Joghurtdrinks, Zwieback und Obst vorhanden. Wir waren begeistert und können die Unterkunft nur weiter empfehlen!
