Amazing Villa! Our family had a great New Year in Madeira. The Villa was perfect, clean tidy safe for children and most of all we managed to catch the fireworks from the end of the terrace! Highly recommended and will be stopping here again next time we visit Madeira.
Uns hat der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen. Die Kommunikation mit OurMadeira war tadellos. Wir konnten aufgrund einer Flugverspätung erst später anreisen, trotzdem wurde von OurMadeira der Check-in problemlos organisiert und das persönliche Kennenlernen unkompliziert auf den nächsten Tag verschoben. Das Haus ist wirklich sehr gut ausgestattet und viele Geschäfte und Restaurants sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Einzig kleiner Wehmutstropfen ist, dass man hier und da dem Haus trotz den relativ jungen Alters die vielen Gäste, die dort schon gewohnt haben, ansieht. Aber das ist auch schon Klagen auf sehr hohem Niveau. Insgesamt gab es wirklich nichts zu beanstanden.

Awesome view from the terrace, very clean and spacious! Fully equipped kitchen and a very professional team that responds extremely fast and helps you with any problems even if they are not related to your Airbnb. Value for money is also perfect, can't complain at all! Only thing to note is that there is no shampoo provided (as it says in the listing)
I spent one week at the villa together with a group of friends. We were 9 people. The villa offered enough space for everyone, we enjoyed the fantastic view and the pool and explored the island and its beautiful surroundings. Supermarkets are just around the corner so we could easily buy everything we needed and cook ourselves. Besides, there are opportunities to dine out at various cafés and restaurants in the neighborhood. All in all, a fabulous experience! I'd like to especially emphasize the great support of Our Madeira team that was always available and helpful before, during, and after our stay at the villa. You do a great job, thank you so much!

Die Unterkunft ist einfach traumhaft. Wir hatten eine ganz tolle Woche vor Ort. Die Kommunikation hat super geklappt, wir wurden sehr freundlich vor Ort empfangen. Ich empfehle allen Leuten aber ein Auto vor Ort zu mieten, es sind zwar alle notwendigen Geschäfte vor Ort, aber die Insel ist so facettenreich, da ist ein Auto ein Muss. Eine riesige Garage ist auch vorhanden, wir haben allerdings immer direkt an der Straße geparkt. Die Unterkunft bietet alles, was man vor Ort benötigt. Wenn wir nochmal Madeira mit so vielen Leuten besuchen, würden wir diese Unterkunft immer wieder mieten. Wir sind echt begeistert!!!
Very well located, restaurants and supermarkets nearby, can get everywhere quickly. Spectacular view of sunrise and sunset, heated pool perfect for the kids.

An absolutely top notch holiday villa. Amazing view , spacious , great pool , bbq and kitchen all excellent. Location is very good , right next to the main Madeira highway so easy to get to and yet very quite. Process was smooth and the owners very helpful. Highly recommended
Property was immaculate and as advertised. Pandemic travel restrictions over the past year and a half necessitated some itinerary changes, but all of these were handled with grace and patience by Our Madeira. In fact, communication throughout as requirements changed were prompt, helpful, and friendly. Getting onto Madeira is easy if you take the advice, complete the applications and download the app. Our Madeira arranged a car hire with full coverage, which was a good thing as we had a "ding" incident - no issues whatsoever, all covered. The accommodations are as pictured. We opted for additional pool heat, which we liked. Suggest asking the pool filter be scheduled to shut off at night as the pool filter sound is noticeable. Kitchen is well equipped. Health rules restrict how many provisions can be left at the property, but there is a good grocery just a few blocks away. The entire island can be visited in a day, and recommend a hired car and an island circumnavigation early in your visit to get oriented. Overall we rate this property a solid A, and we grade Our Madeira a solid A+++
Die schönen Bilder der Villa können nur bedingt die wahre Grösse des Hauses und die geschmackvolle und künstlerische Einrichtung widerspiegeln - Fonte do Mar ist einfach ein Traum. Schon der Eingang auf der obersten Ebene offenbart einen sensationellen Blick auf den Ozean und der eigene Aufzug macht die drei stöckige Villa nicht nur barrierefrei, sondern vereinfacht auch Einkäufe und Co. In der eigenen Garage hatte sogar unser 9 Sitzer Bus ausreichend Platz. Auf der zweiten Ebene befinden sich insgesamt 4 Schlafzimmer, drei davon mit eigenem Badezimmer und atemberaubendem Meerblick, alle 4 sind klimatisiert, geräumig und modern eingerichtet. Der Master Bedroom hat dazu ein eigenes Ankleidezimmer, einen eigenen Balkon mit dem besten Meeblick den man sich vorstellen kann (man blickt auf Cristo Rei) sowie eine Whirlpool Badewanne samt begehbarer Dusche. Das "Playstation Zimmer" hat uns wenig interessiert, dürfte aber viele Freunde finden. Auf der untersten Ebene befindet sich ein weiteres WC, die mehr als ausreichend und modern ausgestattete Küche, ein eigener Waschraum mit Waschmaschine und Co sowie der enorm grosse Ess- und Wohnbereich. Grosse Couch, Bartheke, grosser Esstisch für 8 Personen, Kamin, Lounge Bereich, ewig hohe Decken, bodentiefe Fenster bzw. Schiebetüren und eine wirklich stylische Einrichtung bieten allen Komfort. Herzstück ist sicherlich der über Wohnzimmer sowie Küche erreichbare Aussenbereich. Der 1,40 Meter tiefe Pool ist ideal für Kids und gross genug um ein paar kleine Runden zu schwimmen und wird flankiert von einem Sonnendeck mit Esstisch für 6 Personen, 8 Sonnenliegen, Aussendusche sowie einem Lounge Bereich mit zwei riesigen Sonnenschirmen. Star der Villa ist auch hier die fantastische Aussicht. Die Lage der Villa ist dazu super. Fussläufig sind mehrere Supermärkte, Apotheken, Restaurants und ein guter Bäcker zu erreichen - in wenigen Sekunden ist man mit dem Auto auf der Autobahn (trotzdem ruhig gelegen) und in nur 10 Minuten in der Stadtmitte von Funchal oder am Flughafen. Das Wlan in der Villa war auf allen Ebenen perfekt und die Kommunikation, Organisation sowie der Service von Norberta und Ihren Kollegen/innen vorbildlich. Brot, Käse, Wein und Wasser gab es dazu als kleines Willkommensgeschenk - Urlaubsherz was willst du mehr. Eine der besten AirBnB Erfahrungen bisher!

This beautiful villa is nested on the hills of Cançelo that get sun all day long. Layout of the house is perfect for a group of friends or a large family, with lots of space to gather as well as space for reflection. The communication with the host was great throughout our stay.
The amazing view is apparent as soon as you walk in the door and is just as impressive from the lounge and from the patio and pool. It never fails to impress from dawn to the beautiful sunsets. The photos are very accurate and the whole house is high quality at every level. We had a fabulous stay, enjoying the house and the excellent quality nearby restaurants. Local supermarkets are only a short walk and the bus into Funchal is an experience not to be missed! Highly recommended, you can't fail to be impressed.
Impressive from the moment you enter the front door. Very special property, high quality throughout with breathtaking views from every level. Fantastic sea views, incredible sunsets. The property photos are very accurate and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Local shops and restaurants are good value too and easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Fonte do Mar 1 in February was a real pleasure. We really enjoyed the spacious and luxurious villa and its heated pool. All the interiour an d exteriour spaces were well-maintained and provided for a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Ideally situated with a stunning view of the ocean we found ourselves close to shops and restaurants and a very convenient access to roads to Funchal and the attractions of the island. The handling of the booking process and all the necessary information was meticiously provided by Norberta the agent and the other staff of Our Madeira. We would not hesitate to consider coming back to this top of the list property on our next stay on Madeira.

We really enjoyed this Villa, clean and tidy and lots of space. Short drive to Funchal and a decent supermarket close by. Smaller shops and a range of good restaurants within walking distance too.
A beautiful villa in a great location, with loads of living space, very comfortable bedrooms and great outdoor space. Very clean, well decorated and with stunning views. When we arrived we really thought we'd arrived in paradise. However, we noticed after a couple of days that things were going wrong. The dishwasher wasn't getting things clean, and eventually stopped working altogether after we got up one morning to find it had been running all night. In attempting to fix the problem the agency sent an engineer, who turned off the stopcock but failed to turn it on again afterwards, resulting in us struggling with the washing machine for much of the next day. The freezer's ice maker didn't work. And the swimming pool never got up to the temperature we had paid to have it heated to (25C). When we reported this to the agency they said it was hard to get it to that temperature when the weather wasn't great, though they had already taken our money for it. Individually these issues aren't a big deal, but they combined to create a level of inconvenience and annoyance that wasn't conducive to a relaxing holiday. But what made it worse was the agency's response . Credit where it's due, they did respond to individual issues when we pointed them out. But when we complained at the end of the week about the combined impact of all the problems and asked to be compensated they were intransigent. The fact that the three broken amenities were due to worn out parts, which couldn't be replaced or repaired during our stay, suggested to us a general lack of maintenance but the agency rejected this, pointing out that the outside decking had just been replaced. Their view seemed to be that because the villa was very nice, which it is, that should be compensation for some of the advertised amenities not being available. In a similar vein they rejected our request for compensation because they were refunding the money for the pool heating. But that was money we specifically paid on top of the basic rent for a service that they were unable to deliver. I totally accept that sometimes things go wrong, and that things are never perfect. What I find such a pity is that the agency had an opportunity to acknowledge that they had not provided an adequate service. Even more than financial recompense, that would have really made a difference, and would have avoided our holiday being left with something of a tarnish. I would advise fellow holidaymakers to avoid renting properties from Our Madeira agency, at least until they have rethought their approach to customer service.

Fabulous villa which is very spacious, clean and up together with an amazing view in a great location. A brilliant 10 days was had and we thoroughly enjoyed everything that this modern villa has to offer, especially its spaciousness and the incredible views both by day and night! Local amenities, beach and local restaurants all within walking distance albeit it very hilly. The city of Funchal is a 10 min drive away where you can find a wider selection of local restaurants and fine dining, most of the restaurants have set menus and wine flight deals, which are usually great value for money and actually the wine tastes pretty good. Definitely going return in the near future and would highly recommend to anyone looking to renting a villa in Funchal.
Wow, the panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean from this villa hit you from the second you walk through the front door and gaze through the 5m long panoramic window on the top floor. They are also just as good from the middle level where the bedrooms are and from the lower level where you reach the kitchen and vast sitting room, which then open out onto a large deck and garden with the pool which also looks out over the vast Atlantic. The villa is incredibly spacious and every room is large and well proportioned. It is situated on the South Coast of the island on the edge of the capital Funchal, with stunning unrestricted 180 degree views to the South from 250 m above the ocean as the villa is positioned at the top of a cliff in the upmarket Funchal suburb of Canico. We never tired of the views, whether it was opening the curtains in the morning, sitting in the pool or gazing at the stars over the ocean at night. The villa is incredibly spacious as I have said above and very well appointed, including having a lift to take you up and down the three floors if you don't want to use the stairs. The main bedroom has a dressing room and balcony, again with the same stunning views. There is everything you need to have a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable holiday, as we did. I would highly recommend this villa as to anyone wanting to stay in self catering accommodation in Madeira, it is only 15 minutes from the airport, it has good bars, shops and restaurants within close walking distance, but it is also is close to the centre of Funchal. The villa itself is of a very high standard and is very well equipped, as well as being very large and air conditioned throughout. The views though are incredible from every level and made our stay very special indeed. We have stayed in some stunning places all over the world, but this is at the top of the list in terms of everything it offers and the views rival anywhere we have been.
We are a group of 7 people from Germany and lived in the Villa Fonte do Mar for a week. It's a Great Villa with a stunning ocean view in a beautiful and calm neighborhood. We were also impressed by the scale of the house. 3 floors, a big "loft like" living room and a private elevator are features you don't find every day. Linda welcomed us at the Villa when we arrived and showed us around. She's a lovely person and very dedicated to make your stay the best experience possible. Thanks again to her for making us feel "at home" instantly. The pictures on the website are pretty much on point and resemble the Villa perfectly. It offers more then enough space for a luxury stay with up to 8 people. In the outside areas there is maybe some room for improvements such as the plants around the Villa that might need some more care or the upper balcony which might need a small paint job. But that's really nitpicking and shouldn't distract from the overall great experience. So if you are looking for a great relaxing stay with a small group… don't look any further. You just found one of the greatest options in Madeira.
